Somewhere over the rainbow…

As a little girl, The Wizard of Oz was my favorite movie. This song makes me feel like that little girl again, with the same hopes and dreams.

Hiromi, pianist savant

I took my parents to Yoshi’s jazz club and restaurant in Oakland last night, without knowing too much about the artist, a pianist named Hiromi Uehara. She was totally amazing, as in crazy phenomenally  talented, creative to the nth degree, amazingly humble and sweet, hip, and overall awe-inspiring. You could tell this was her complete calling and she was so happy to be playing.  Here is a video of her playing the song she played for an encore– and the audience definitely demanded the encore!!
